This is very reminiscent of the ancient Israelites when serpents had entered the encampment and bitten the people. They were instructed that all that was necessary, to be healed from the venomous bites and live, was to look upon the staff, with the image of a serpent on it, being carried through the encampment by Aaron. Many of the people chose to follow that counsel and lived. However, many others, laying in their beds stricken with the poison chose to “roll over, curse God, and die”.
The great master has asked “Do you truly believe that when you ask God for a loaf of bread, that you would be given a stone?
We need to turn around and realize that we can choose to sit at another table, the one we’re actually provided, of total abundance and plenty where we can feast on peace, joy and happiness and all of the abundance and prosperity imaginable.
What does God say? “If you are my child you have the same ability that I have. My gift to you is independence, freedom, liberty and abundance. Would you have me force you into dependency on me? Do you expect me to choose for you what to do with your life? Do you expect me to choose what kind of a house you will live in? Do you expect me to choose how you earn your living? Do you expect me to choose whether you are a beggar and force you to be dependent on what the rich man is willing to give you? Or do you expect me to choose that you are to be the rich man on whom the beggar depends?”
Is it not time for the child to grow up and no longer “depend” on the parent to make all of his choices for him? “Would you force me to be a dictator, requiring you to be so dependent that I get to decide whether you are the worm wriggling and dangling on a hook or the fish baited by the worm? Would you make me a liar who pretends to love you but enjoys the entertainment of parceling out joy to some and misery to others?
Unconditional love says there is no condition, requirement or stipulation on whether you are acceptable. That means that I have released to you freedom to choose with no conditions that I remain your dictator.
The only perfectly created universe has to be totally abundant. The gift that I have given my children is their agency, which is total freedom and total liberty to Choose! If I have giving you the right to choose between abundance and poverty, would you not also have the power and ability to accomplish what you have chosen? If it were not so you would truly have no choice.
There is a law stated by many great masters. “When the student is ready the teacher appears”.
Turnaround my foolish lazy child and see the table of limitless abundance that has been spread before you. Choose to partake, or not. The freedom is yours.
Until next time, may you have the peaceful and charmed life that you deserve.
