Be your own fortuneteller.
The reason people go to fortunetellers is usually because they’re trying to learn, ahead of time, the outcome of an action they’re intending to take. But what if instead of asking whether a certain path of action, for which they are uncertain, would be successful they instead set the goal for the outcome that they want and then allow life’s experiences to provide the path for them to follow to that outcome? This is the only way that any goal is truly accomplished.
Making up a plan to achieve a goal then trying to forecast the future to see if the plan will work is the exact reverse of how achievements are accomplished. The correct approach is to decide, in great detail, the outcome (goal) desired, write it down and then daydream it, which will make you the “student, ready” for “the teacher to appear” to okay guide you to the outcome (goal) you desire.
(Many masters and teachers starting with Buddha have made the promise that “when the student is ready the teacher appears”.)
You see instead of the commonly held idea that the future is unknown, a gamble and virtually left to chance, you have the power and the skills to decide and determine the future of your choice.
So whether you’re a young person wondering what your life might bring, in middle-age feeling trapped by earlier life choices or elderly feeling that all opportunities have passed you by, you have the power and skill to determine your future and truly become your own fortuneteller from this point onward.
What if you took every one of the uncertainties in your life and decided that the outcome that you wanted was to be certain of the exact correct goal that you should choose? In short, your goals would be to find your ideal goals? Seriously, how could you go wrong if you decided to set a goal to find and set the best goal for yourself in every area of uncertainty in your life?
So, with regard to your future, you can be so confident about it that you literally can “be your own fortuneteller”.
Remember the concept that what you think about and have feelings about most of the time is what your life will bring you? (Very truthfully, “what you think about you bring about”.) If you’re not happy with the uncertainties in your future and feel like you don’t have power over your destiny ask yourself a couple of questions.
How would it be to feel so great about your future that you would look forward to getting up in the morning excited to see your uncertainties melt into confident intended results?
How would it feel to have a sense of being needed, appreciated and respected for the security you create for yourself, your love ones and those around you.
How would it feel to know that everyone looks at you the way that you used to look at secure, confident, successful, prosperous, respected folks who seemed to “have it all” and were “living life large”?
